Islamic Studies

MPhil program in Islamic Studies started in 2002 while PhD program started in 2002. At that time it was a combined program with Arabic due to lack of adequate faculty in each discipline. Later on, as faculty developed, both became independent programs. Today the strength of PhD faculty in Islamic Studies is 08 and 01 MPhil including 02 HEC approved supervisors and 02 recipients of Seerat Award. It issues its HEC approved category ‘Y’ journal Al-Baseera which is bi-lingual – Urdu and Arabic.

Program Requirements

Program Requirements (Program Completion)
• Students with BS or Masters in Arabic, Islamic Studies and graduates of Islamic Schools (accredited by HEC and given equivalence of 16 years of schooling) are eligible for admission in MPhil. Students with MS or MPhil in Arabic, Islamic Studies and graduates of Islamic Schools (accredited by HEC and given equivalence of 18 years of schooling) are eligible for admission in PhD.
