Dr. Lubna Farah (Assistant Professor)

Dr. Lubna Farah is currently working as Assistant Professor in the Department of Translation & Interpretation at the National University of Modern Languages in Islamabad. She earned her PhD in Arabic from the National University of Modern Languages in 2008. Teaching and research experience stretches over about ten years, teaching students from various social and cultural backgrounds, possessing excellent verbal communication and written skills along with constructive and effective teaching methods that promote a stimulating learning environment.

She has excellent interpretation & translation skills with experience from over 25 years. She worked as translator/interpreter and provided translation and interpretation services to different organizations such as UN offices, Embassies and where else it was required. Her practical experience extends to converting documents and articles from one language into another on given deadline.

She performed translation duty at international level conferences and meetings with different head of states:

Dr. Jamil Asghar

He is currently working as Assistant Professor at the Department of English, National University of Modern Languages in Islamabad. He earned his PhD in English from National University of Modern Languages in 2014. He holds a research fellowship in Linguistics from the University of North Texas, USA. He also holds master’s degrees in political science and philosophy. His teaching and research experience stretches over about fifteen years. He has published articles in the research journals of repute and has addressed conferences at national and international levels. His areas of interest include postmodernism, literary theory, translation studies, and postcolonial studies.

Dr. Khalid Iqbal Yasir

He is a mainstream Urdu poet, acknowledged critic, well known editor and a professional translator. He did his MS in Pakistan Studies from Quaid -e Azam University with distinction in 1980. Earlier he received his master's degree in History from Punjab University in 1978. He earned his M Phil and PHD in Urdu and Iqbal Studies from Allama Iqbal Open University and Islamia University, Bahawalpur respectively.

During his distinguished career, he translated a variety of texts ranging from poetry, fiction, rules and procedures to scientific literature from English into Urdu. Besides, he developed and monitored a large number of translation projects as major part of his duties during his life long career with premier literary institutions of the country. He rendered English scripts of many TV documentaries and serials into Urdu for dubbing as well.United Nations Development Programme is also benefited from his acumen as a professional translator.

National award of Tamgha-i-Imtiaz has been conferred upon him in 2011, by the Government of Pakistan in recognition of his valuable services in the field of language and literature.
