Alhamdolilah, NUML Islamabad's newly established Regional Campus Mirpur (AJ&K) commenced its inaugural academic session on 13th February 2023. I express my gratitude to Almighty ALLAH for enabling me to be part of the Founding team and serve as pioneer Regional Director of Mirpur Campus. On behalf of NUML, I wish to thank the Government of AJ&K for facilitating us in the establishment of this campus. It is heartening to note that NUML’s Mirpur Campus is the first ever footprint of any Federal University in AJ&K. 

NUML Islamabad commenced its journey in 1969 as a language institute, conducting courses in different oriental and occidental languages. This was aimed at equipping the students with knowledge and skills to understand languages and assimilate cultures so as to be able to interact and communicate with different nationalities in different capacities in life to advance, promote and project national image and interests. It was upgraded to university in May 2000. To attain this benchmark of a fully autonomous university, it traversed over three decades of arduous journey, combating numerous challenges and achieved stature of a seat of learning contributing new knowledge in national & global perspective. Today NUML is ranked amongst top tier universities of Pakistan (The Times Higher Education Impact Ranking). It teaches 21 oriental and occidental languages in addition to a number of emerging disciplines including Management Sciences, Social Sciences, Engineering and Computer Sciences.  

In consonance with vision, mission, core values, culture and traditions of NUML, Mirpur Campus aspires to become a leading national institution in developing all-encompassing well rounded, innovative and empathetic future leaders. The campus is equipped with all essential facilities like modern computer lab, rich library with digital access to numerous search engines/HEC databases, high speed internet connectivity and allied facilities. Allah be praised for enabling us to hire highly motivated, competent and passionate faculty members, who joined us after a rigorous merit-based selection process. To ensure manifestation of our goal to offer students with a transformational educational experience, training for newly hired faculty was arranged before the commencement of session.

I assure students and their parents that at NUML Mirpur Campus, you will find that our faculty and staff will enable and facilitate you to achieve your academic, personal and intellectual goals in a befitting manner, In Shaa ALLAH. On behalf of NUML community, I welcome you to NUML Mirpur campus, wish you all the best in your academic pursuits and assure you that you will have an exciting experience.
