The University Partnerships Grants Program 2020-23 (UPGP) is funded by the United States Government and administered by the United States Educational Foundation in Pakistan (USEFP).
The Inaugural/opening ceremony of the University Partnerships Grants Program was held at the Salam Block auditorium in NUML on 26th April 2022.As for the participants of the ceremony, the guest of honor was Mr. Phillip Assis, Cultural Affairs Officer at the U.S. Embassy in Islamabad, Sabir Sharif (Representative of the U.S. Embassy) and Shahram Niazi (Representative of USEFP), DG, NUML, Brig Syed Nadir Ali, Pro-Rector Academics, Prof. Dr Muhammad Safeer Awan, Pro-Rector Research, Deans and Faculty Members. The VCs and faculty members of the six partner universities attended the ceremony online. Moreover, Dr Ryan Skinnell and Dr Masood Ashraf Raja graced the occasion by attending the event online.
Pro-Rector Academics, Prof. Dr Muhammad Safeer Awan, in his address focused on the achievements of the previous NUML-UNT partnership program and his resolution to achieve goals of the present project. Mr. Phillip Assis, Cultural Affairs Officer at the U.S. Embassy, DG, NUML, Brig Syed Nadir Ali and Dr Masood Ashraf Raja also addressed the audience.
At the end DG NUML, Brig Syed Nadir Ali and Pro-Rector Academics, Prof. Dr Muhammad Safeer Awan presented souvenir to the chief guest, Mr. Phillip Assis. The project team also had a group photograph with the chief guest.
