Welcome to the Department of Educational Sciences, Faculty of Social Sciences,

We take pride in being pioneers in the Faculty of Scoial Sciences. The department has been striving to produce professionally qualified educators , instructional leaders,academic managers and 21st century researchers. We are fully committed to equip our graduates with latest knowledge, essential skills, relevant competencies and appropriate attitudes that not only ensure their academic success but also enable them to contribute towards the wellbeing of the society and global citizenship.

Overview

The Department of Education was established in 2003. We currently offer a range of programmes at undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate levels including PhD, M.Phil, M.A Education,  M.A Educational Planning and Management, B. Ed (Hons) Secondary, BS. Health and Physical Education, Diploma, and Advanced Diploma in Montessori and Early Childhood Education. Our alumni have been working successfully in all tiers of educational institutions, NGOs, international organizations, and Ministry of Education.

To prepare learner-centered educators with the knowledge, skills and dispositions through critical pedagogy, evidence- based practices, leadership, collaboration, innovation and scholarship.
