A Two-day conference was organized on the topic, Contemporary Ideological & Moral Challenges to Muslim Societies and their Solutions from Islamic Perspective  by the Dept. of Islamic Studies and different guests were invited. The chief guests addressed the audience and the papers were presented to highlight the topic through different perspectives. It was very fruitful for faculty members and students as it encouraged them to ponder over the topic which is a great issue n today’ world. 

Up gradation Ceremony of Research Journal Al-Basirah

An event on the topic, Up gradation Ceremony of Research Journal Al-Basirah was organized by the Dept. of Islamic Studies and Prof. Dr. Tahir Ali Shah, Director Academics HEC and Prof. Dr. Muhammad Zia ul Haq Director IRI was invited as a chief guest..

Seminar on “Age of Fitnah”

In this seminar, three honorable scholars were invited. The program was started with the recitation of Holy Quran after that video having the complete documentary of previously held seminars was played in front of the audience. The speaker of the programme was Raja Zia ul Haq lecturer at Bahria University and president of the Organization Youth club. He focused on the historical content of Fitnah along with west influences on our Muslim society and their efforts

Seminar on Role of Education in Personality Development

Guest Speaker Prof. Dr. Qibla Ayaz, Chairman Islamic Ideology was invited who threw light upon the role of Education plays in building up the character of students and also the society. He gave many inspirational suggestions to all students and faculty. The seminar turned out to be very information as very effective question answer session was held at the end of the seminar. 

Seminar on “Istaqbal-e-Ramadan ul Mubarak”

Department of Islamic Studies arranged seminar on Istaqbal-e-Ramadan ul Mubarak in the Holy month of Ramadan. Prof Dr. Tahir Mehmood, Director Research Dawah Academy IIUI Islamabad was invited as a guest speaker and delivered very fruitful speech. Dean Faculty of Social Sciences Prof. Dr. Shahid Siddiqui really appreciated the efforts of students in organizing the seminar. He also congratulated the department of Islamic Studies for organizing the seminar successfully. At the end of the seminar Head Department of Islamic Studies thanked the guests and distributed shields to guests and organizaer.

Naat Competition

In this event, all departments were informed. Fifteen students took part in the competition from different departments. Judges were invited from outside of the university to make the decisions.

1st, 2nd and 3rd  position holders were awarded with cash prizes of 5000/- 3000/- and 2000/- respectively. Judges were conferred with the shields arranged by the university. The refreshment was arranged for the judges, faculty and the participants

Fun Theory – Entertainment in Islam

An event on the topic, Fun Theory was organized by the Dept. of Islamic Studies and Raja Zia Ul Haq was invited as a guest speaker. The speaker addressed the audience, motivated them and tried to convey the major ideas and principles in Islam regarding entertainment that is allowed in our religion and to what extent can the Muslims have fun while being practicing Muslims at the same time. It was very fruitful for faculty members and students as it encouraged them to ponder over Islam deeply.

Workshop on Vision Management

A workshop was organized on the Vision Management by the Dept. of Islamic Studies and Raja Zia Ul Haq was invited as a guest speaker. Raja Zia Ul Haq addressed the strategy of making the vision of life and approaches for its accomplishment. It was very fruitful for faculty members and students as it encouraged them to re shape their vision.

Dawah Stall on Purpose of life

To give awareness about the teachings of Islam the students of Islamic Studies department arranged a stall entitle “Dawaw Stall”. The stall was arranged under the guidance of HOD and faculty members of the department. Various Books, Booklets, brushers, posters were available on the basic teachings of Islam. The students and teachers of the university took the benefit of Islamic literature and appreciated the efforts of dept. of Islamic studies.

Seminar on the Progress of Council of Islamic Ideology

A seminar on the progress of Council of Islamic Ideology was organized by the department of Islamic studies in order to bring awareness in the students of Islamic studies in particular and other students in general. Dr. Ikram ul Haq, Secretary of Council of Islamic Ideology delivered the lecture on the working style of council of Islamic Ideology, its worth as a national institution, judgments and recommendations to the government. The students from the various departments participated in the seminar and got awareness about the council. The lecture was much informative and appreciated by the students and faculty members. A question answer session was also held at the end of the seminar.

Students of B:Ed 4th  (A&B) of Morning shift conducted a successful session of academic counseling at Islamabad Model College for Girls I 10/4 Islamabad on 4th March 2022.

Main focus was on Educational Counselling mainly refers to providing assistance and guidance to students in making the right choices in their studies, be it their educational plans, career aspirations, choice of stream and specialisation as well as the selection of college or university as per their interests and preferences

Books Donation to the Hostel of Orphanage Students

Students and Teachers of Department of Education have collected new books for donation to library of an Orphanage Hostel in connection with the celebrations of “International Literacy Day”. This hostel is a Project of Falah Foundation in Choa Saidan Shah, District Chakwal. Falah Foundation is a Punjab based Charity duly registered with the Social Welfare Department since 2002. FALAH stands for Foundation for Awareness, Literacy, Agriculture and Health. This Specific Hostel is founded for the Children of Shuhada and is situated with Fouji Foundation School, Choa Saidan Shah.

Teaching Practice - Fall 2022

Department of Education was established in 2002 is currently running programs of B.Ed (Hons), MA Education BS Health and Physical Education, MPhil Education and PhD Education. Teaching practice is a mandatory ingredient for award of degree in B.Ed (Hons) and MA Education Programs. Current years teaching practice is underway, scheduled wef 15th April 2022 to 15th May 2022 in public sector schools and colleges of Federal Directorate of Education (FDE), Islamabad (Separately for Boys and Girls).

A total of 19 students of MA Education 4th Semester (Morning & Afternoon) and 11 students of B.Ed (Hons)  8th Semester (Morning) have been assigned the mandatory task of teaching practice within this schedule through allocation of schools and colleges to these students from the list issued/ forwarded by FDE   to the department.

Peace Building and Conflict Resolution Applied to Pakistan

The Department of Pakistan Studies hosted an event titled "Peace Building and Conflict Resolution Applied to Pakistan". Dr. Alexander Cromwell, Professorial Lecturer and the Associate Director, Dean's Scholars and Experiential Learning at the Elliott School, George Washington University, USA, and Dr. Javed Ali Kalhoro, Assistant Professor at the Department of Pakistan Studies, NUML, delivered a lecture on the said subject.

The Students and faculty members had a chance to interact with Dr. Cromwell and explored new subjects to conduct their research. 

International Conference Prevention of Trafficking in Persons

Dr Javed Ali Kalhoro, Assistant Professor of the Department of Pakistan Studies, NUML, addressed the conference, "International Conference Prevention of Trafficking in Persons", funded by the U.S. Embassy in Pakistan. 

The conferences hosted various scholars, academicians, politicians and journalists from the United States and Pakistan.

The Department of Pakistan Studies arranged a guest lecture titled “The Role of Media in Promoting National Harmony and Youth Development”, on March 17, 2023, at 10: am in the Multipurpose Hall, Ibn-e-Khalidoon Block. The lecture was delivered by a seasoned journalist Javed Sidique. The Head of the Department, Dr. Muhammad Shoaib Malik, faculty members and the students of Pakistan Studies, also interacted with the Senior Journalist to retrieve knowledge on contemporary affairs.

Study Trip to the National Monument

The Department of Pakistan Studies organised a study trip on March 17, 2023, for its students to visit the National Monument of Pakistan. During the trip, students visited the National Museum and witnessed the historical collections, placed in the museum. The study trip aimed at enlightening the students about the history of Pakistan.

Pakistan Cultural Day

The Department of Pakistan Studies organized “Pakistan Cultural Day” on March 21, 2023. 
The students of different backgrounds presented their cultural heritage. The Dean FSS Prof. Dr. Khalid Sultan, along with the Head of the Department Dr. Muhammad Shoaib Malik, witnessed the event and interacted with the students. The students also presented their dresses, cultural dances, food and literature to the Guests. The Dean FSS and HoD Pakistan Studies highly praised the students for their efforts in presenting the colourful culture of Pakistan. The Dean FSS emphasizes the students to foster interfaith harmony for the promotion of patriotism in Pakistan. The students also thanked the faculty members and staff of the department for guiding them in organizing such events. They also urged the department to continue such practices for the promotion of National Harmony.

NUML Wins 2nd Position in PTV Competition

The students of Pakistan Studies, Raqeeb Asghar and Salsabil Sajid, win the second position in the PTV program "Know your Constitution". 

As many as eight universities participated in the programme where the students of NUML secured the second position. The Head of the Department, Dr. Muhammad Shoaib Malik congratulated the students for their success in the programme and made NUML proud.
