Department of Software Engineering (DSE), NUML Faisalabad was established in Sep 2021. We have well qualified faculty equipped with skills relevant to software engineering and information technology. Faculty attaches great importance to teaching and research that is reflected through approval of BSSE and BSIT programs by NCEAC/HEC. DSE has well equipped computing labs along with DLD/Applied Physics Lab/FYP Lab. Department pays attention to the cultivation of students' innovative ability, practical ability, and application ability. There are 20 faculty members (PhD/MS) and 500 students approximately in department.

Software engineers investigate tools, methods, theories and techniques to support the development of software. At present, our active areas of focus include application frameworks, software engineering, re-engineering and reuse, software engineering for web-based applications and software development.

Information technology is a welcome note coinciding with emerging IT market. In BSIT program we focus on technologies, such as DevOps, edge and cloud computing, Block chains, cybersecurity, AI, SDNs, CDNs and SONs etc. That way, it is going to be visible as a technology driven degree.
