Prof. Dr. Faisal Shafait

Career and research

Is currently working as a Professor at School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (SEECS), National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), Islamabad, Pakistan. He was an Adjunct Senior Lecturer at the School of Computer Science and Software Engineering at The University of Western Australia in Perth, Australia. Was also a Senior Researcher at the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI) as well as an Adjunct Lecturer at Kaiserslautern University of Technology (TUKL), Germany.



Awards and honours

He received his PhD with the highest distinction in computer engineering from TUKL in 2008. My research interests include machine learning and pattern recognition with a special emphasis on applications in document image analysis. He has co-authored over 100 publications in international peer-reviewed conferences and journals in this area. His Google Scholar Profile shows over 5,500 citations of his papers.

Dr. Fazal-e-Amin PhD. Information Technology (2009 – 2012) Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS, Malaysia. Research Area: Software Engineering with the Thesis: Identification and Quantification of Variability Measures Affecting Code Reusability in Open Source Environment. He completed his MS Software Engineering (2005 – 2008) International Islamic University Islamabad, Pakistan. The thesis including major subjects were; Software Engineering, Software Quality, and Project Management Thesis: Aspect Design Pattern for Non-Functional Requirements Bachelors of Computer Science (2000 – 2003) Hamdard University Karachi, Pakistan It was a three years degree with software development project Work
