The department offers A1, A2, B1, B2, and C1 programmes based on the Common European Framework of Reference for languages. Advanced Diploma in English, and Advanced Diploma in ELT are offered as one-year programmes. The department also offers different short courses of 8 weeks’ duration. They are the International English Language Testing System (IELTS), English Speaking Proficiency Course (ESPC), Occupational English Testing (OET), English for Academic Writing (EAW), English for Business Communication (EBC), English Language Course (ELC) and Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). These short programmes are to hone students' English expressions, advance their professional skills and prepare them for further studies and real life.
The department has international and overseas Pakistani students from various countries of the world. It hosts students from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Iran, the People's Republic of China, Japan, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan, Indonesia, Türkiye, Libya, and Sodan, to name a few. These students enrich the department with their different backgrounds and enhance the intercultural competence of the department by sharing their experiences and cultures with their peers and teachers. They improve their English proficiency by studying the English language in the department and interacting with their peers and teachers in English.
