Given the importance of the EU stance on Human Rights, the webinar discussed the EU human rights discourse vis-à-vis the Indian held Kashmir with focus on the post-annexation situation. Following the unilateral revocation of Kashmir’s special status on August 5, 2019, Indian government took suppressive measures against the Kashmiris and denied them the fundamental rights. The webinar underlined the Europe based move for highlighting rights of the people of Jammu and Kashmir, particularly in the European Parliament.
