1. To encourage and facilitate proficiency and scholarship in Urdu language and literature.
2.To ensure quality training to a wide spectrum of students from diverse language and cultural backgrounds (local and foreign) in Urdu language and literature.
3. To encourage knowledge generating activities and the development of research .
4. To equip students with the skill and excellence in the literary contexts and for practical criticism of literary parchments.
It is expected that students will seek adroitness of research and criticism during their course work and will take benefit from it in their practical exertions of research and criticism at the highest level.
