Screening of Spanish Film "La Lengua de las Mariposas" with the Collaboration of Embassy of Spain

East Campus

12th of October is commemorated as the National Day of Spain. The Department of Spanish language regularly celebrates this day by organizing different programs each year. This year the department screened a Spanish movie “La Lengua de las Mariposas” with English subtitles with the collaboration of the Embassy of Spain on Tuesday 22nd October 2024 at Confucius Hall, Ibne Khaldoon Block. Mr. Félix Pernas Ramírez-Deputy Head of Mission, Embassy of Spain was the chief guest. This event enhanced the historical and cultural knowledge of our students and provided them a platform for interaction with a Spanish Diplomat who talked about his country, culture and history.

The Inauguration of the Writing Resource Center by English UGS on 23rd October, 2024

East Campus

The Writing Resource Center at the Department of English UGS was inaugurated on October 23, 2024, by Dean and Pro Rector Academics Prof. Dr. Muhammad Safeer Awan in Room 131, Iqbal Block. The ceremony, marked by a ribbon-cutting, included program and society coordinators, faculty, society executives, and aspiring writers.

This center, open initially 2-3 days a week, will be staffed by esteemed resource persons Dr. Aziz Ullah Khan and Mr. Habib ur Rehman, with plans to introduce additional experts as needed.

The Writing Resource Center aims to enhance writing skills for students and faculty through personalized tutoring, workshops, and various resources. Its mission is to foster collaboration, improve writing confidence, and equip participants with essential academic and professional skills. By building a vibrant, interdisciplinary writing community, the center supports both creativity and effective communication.

The department of Electrical Engineering organized a seminar on the 22nd October 2024. The seminar titled " From concept to reality: deploying IoT solutions" was conducted by Engr. Zeeshan Ellahi (Research Officer, NIE). The seminar provided a comprehensive overview of the strategies, challenges and best practices involved in successful IoT implementation. The participants consisting of students of BSCE-I learned about the significance of IoT and it's effective deployment in various industries.
