Visit to Synergy IT
NUML's BSIT students visited Synergy IT today on 30-10-2024 for an industrial visit. During the visit, expert professionals from Synergy IT provided comprehensive insights into their cutting-edge products and services, as well as the nature of their work. The students gained valuable understanding of the industry's best practices and technological advancements.
The Synergy IT team also briefed the students on exciting opportunities for:
- Internships: hands-on experience in real-world projects
- Industrial Final Year Projects (FYPs): collaborative research and development
- Graduate Trainee Program: comprehensive training for fresh graduates
This industrial visit aimed to bridge the gap between academia and industry, enhacing relationships and potential collaborations. Students benefited from networking with professionals, and exploring potential career paths.

The Inauguration of the Writing Resource Center by English UGS on 23rd October, 2024
The Writing Resource Center at the Department of English UGS was inaugurated on October 23, 2024, by Dean and Pro Rector Academics Prof. Dr. Muhammad Safeer Awan in Room 131, Iqbal Block. The ceremony, marked by a ribbon-cutting, included program and society coordinators, faculty, society executives, and aspiring writers.
This center, open initially 2-3 days a week, will be staffed by esteemed resource persons Dr. Aziz Ullah Khan and Mr. Habib ur Rehman, with plans to introduce additional experts as needed.
The Writing Resource Center aims to enhance writing skills for students and faculty through personalized tutoring, workshops, and various resources. Its mission is to foster collaboration, improve writing confidence, and equip participants with essential academic and professional skills. By building a vibrant, interdisciplinary writing community, the center supports both creativity and effective communication.

Trip to Harnoi lake and Shimla Hills
The NUML Mathematics Society (NMS) organized a recreational trip to Harnoi lake and shimla hills on 26th of October, 2024. The trip aimed to provide a refreshing outdoor experience and promote camaraderie among mathematics enthusiasts.
A total of 63 students from the Mathematics department, accompanied by faculty members, participated in the trip. Dr M. Rizwan and Miss Sana served as the focal persons for the event, ensuring its smooth execution

Seminar on From concept to reality: deploying IoT solutions
The department of Electrical Engineering organized a seminar on the 22nd October 2024. The seminar titled " From concept to reality: deploying IoT solutions" was conducted by Engr. Zeeshan Ellahi (Research Officer, NIE). The seminar provided a comprehensive overview of the strategies, challenges and best practices involved in successful IoT implementation. The participants consisting of students of BSCE-I learned about the significance of IoT and it's effective deployment in various industries.

The Department of Electrical Engineering organized a "Cleanliness Drive in NUML" activity on 24th October 2024. The purpose of this activity was to aware university students about cleanliness and environmental awareness. It encourages teamwork as students collaborate to keep the campus clean, promoting a healthier and more sustainable environment for everyone. Such initiatives also help instill the importance of civic duties and community involvement.

Reading circle on "Frankenstein" by Mary Shelley on October 22nd, 2024 organized by ERC on 22nd October
English Readers' Club of the Department of English UGS (of Afternoon shift) hosted an engaging and insightful reading circle on "Frankenstein" by Mary Shelley on October 22nd, 2024, organized by Ms Aleena Shahzad. The event featured a thought-provoking discussion on the central themes of the novel, including monstrosity, humanity, morality, and the dangers of unchecked ambition. The students of BS English led panels analyzing Shelley's complex ideas and their relevance in today's world.Rich dialogues exchanged among several panels of students examined how the novel resonates with contemporary social and ethical issues, sparking vibrant discussions on the nature versus nurture debate and the consequences of scientific advancement. Through these conversations, the event highlighted the novel’s enduring relevance and its profound exploration of the human condition.
