ایک روزہ قومی کانفرنس بعنوان " عالم گیریت کے تناظر میں مادری زبانوں کے کثیر لسانی و ثقافتی مضمرات" کا انعقاد
شعبہ اردو زبان و ادب کے زیر اہتمام 20 فروری 2024 منگل کو ایک روزہ قومی کانفرنس بعنوان " عالم گیریت کے تناظر میں مادری زبانوں کے کثیر لسانی و ثقافتی مضمرات" کا انعقاد کیا گیا۔ افتتاحی اجلاس ریکٹر صاحب ، علمی نشست ڈی جی صاحب جبکہ اختتامی اجلاس ڈین فیکلٹی آف لینگویجز کی زیر صدارت منعقد ہوا۔ افتتاحی اجلاس کے مہمان خصوصی علامہ اقبال اوپن یونیورسٹی کی فیکلٹی آف سوشل سائنسز کے ڈین پروفیسر ڈاکٹر عبد العزیز ساحر ، علمی نشست میں معروف ادبی نقاد و فکشن نگار جناب حمید شاہد اور مہمان اعزاز ادارہ فروغ قومی زبان سے پروفیسر ڈاکٹر راشد حمید جبکہ اختتامی اجلاس میں مہمان خصوصی ادارہ فروغ قومی زبان کے صدر نشین پروفیسر ڈاکٹر محمد سلیم مظہر اور مہمان اعزاز اکادمی ادبیات پاکستان کے ڈی جی جناب عاصم بٹ تھے۔ تینوں اجلاسوں میں پاکستان کی دیگر جامعات سے مدعو مہمان مقررین نے موضوع کی مناسبت سے اپنے خیالات کا اظہار کیا۔ مذکورہ کانفرنس میں نمل کے علاؤہ دیگر جامعات سے تشریف لائے اساتذہ کرام اور طلبہ نے بھی بھرپور شرکت کی۔

Guest speaker Ms. Tayyba Safder, a psychologist from NUML's Department of Applied Psychology, delivered a keynote address emphasizing the importance of psychological well-being and provided insights into coping mechanisms.

Teachers ‘ Day of Türkiye
Teachers ‘ Day of Türkiye. This special day was celebrated in our department giving tribute to our most senior teachers - who had vast experience of teaching more than 30 years - hod Mrs Yasemin Rahoojo and Ms Shahista Hameed was honored with NUML shield conferred by Dean FOL Prof Dr Jamil Asghar Jami. Faculty teachers are also honored with flowers and Special Cake Cutting ceremony prepared collaboratively SDG 4 aims to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all. Celebrating Teachers’ Day acknowledges the crucial role teachers play in providing quality education, shaping future generations, and promoting lifelong learning.

Faculty Development Workshop: “Academic & Administrative Responsibilities of Teachers”
The Department of Spanish organized a one-day Faculty Development Workshop on “Academic & Administrative Responsibilities of Teachers” for all its faculty members at Ghalib Block on Thursday 18th January 2024 from 08:30 am to 12:30 pm. The resource persons for the workshop were Ms. Veronica Vega & Ms. Shireen Fatima from the Department of Spanish. It helped the faculty members understand their multiple roles and responsibilities as teachers and how to handle both academic and administrative tasks at workplace efficiently.

Empowering Minds: A Seminar on Mental Health and Suicide Prevention was organized by the Social Responsibility Society of the English Department (UGS) at NUML, Islamabad on December 19, 2023. We are grateful to Mr. Sheraz Akbar, a young leader with diverse expertise in rehabilitation research, suicidology, adventure psychology, sustainability, and project management, for sharing valuable insights and fostering awareness. Graduation Ceremony of English UGS SocietiesOn December 20, 2023.
On December 20, 2023, a group of 8th-semester students and faculty members from the Department of English at NUML Peshawar Campus visited the department of English Undergraduate Studies (UGS) at the main campus. The primary objective was to allow the students to audit classes and gain insights into the academic environment at the Main Campus. The visit included a comprehensive tour of the Department and various classes. It provided a firsthand experience of the facilities and the environment of the main campus to the students. Additionally, the students had the valuable opportunity to engage in meaningful interactions with 8th-semester students from the main campus.
