All Pakistan Declamation Contest (APDC) was Chaired by 4 BS English students of Department of English (UGS) on 23rd May.

East Campus

Students of English UGS had the honor of chairing 
NUML All Pakistan Bilingual Declamation Contest titled "Uanwan-e-Sahar '1" held on 23rd May, 2023 in NUML Islamabad. 45 universities from across Pakistan participated in the event.

All four students who chaired the Declamation Contest are currently students of BS English.

Seminar on Creating Decolonial Spaces: Indigenous Knowledge, Tradition, and Alternative Epistemes” was organized by Sophy Forum on Tuesday, 09 May 2023.

East Campus

Sophy Forum of the Department of English (Graduate Studies) organised a seminar, titled “Creating Decolonial Spaces: Indigenous Knowledge, Tradition, and Alternative Epistemes” at the Iqbal Hall of Ibn Rushd Block on Tuesday, 09 May 2023. 

Our guest speaker Dr Shahzeb Khan, from the University of Punjab, discussed the concept of deconloniality and emphasized the need to work for the promotion of indigenous knowledge, which is based in our tradition. 

Concluding the session, Dr Muhammad Safeer Awan, Dean Faculty of Arts and Humanities, gave a background to Postcolonial Studies in general and underscored the need to promote alternative epistemes which are decolonial in nature and approach.

Dr. Uzma Abid Ansari moderated the session.
