The Department of Media & Communication Studies and Directorate of Media & TV are organizing an Alumni Interactive Session on the topic of "The Write Track: Script Writing as Career" with students of Media & Communication Studies Department.
Shaherzaad Laila is a Script Editor & Copy Writer from HUM TV Network brings an expertise in script writing, She is also a co-author of a book named “Heartstrings of the Khyber”, a collection of Pashto folktales, set to release on next year in the USA.

Webinar on LMS Registration and Login Issues held on 21st September by DFSC
The Departmental Facilitation and Support Club (DFSC) and the LMS Committee hosted a webinar on LMS Registration and Login Issues on September 21, 2024, via Google Meet. The event was attended by Dr. Muntazir Mehdi, Head of the Department of English UGS, and featured two distinguished guest speakers. Ms. Saima Shirani, Assistant Director of IT, shared her expertise, drawing on over 8 years as an LMS Administrator at the National University of Modern Languages (NUML). Dr. Sajjad Haider, Director of the Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) at NUML, also contributed valuable insights during the session.
The webinar was highly interactive, with the DFSC organizers and IT team actively addressing students' questions in the chatbox. A Q&A session was held at the end, allowing participants to engage directly with the speakers. Over 100 participants joined the webinar, with nearly 200 more watching the live stream on the Department of English UGS Facebook page. Overall, the webinar was a great success, reflecting strong interest and participation from the student community.

Seminar on the Culture of Book Reading and Kashmiri Literature conducted on 23rd September by ERC
On September 23, the English Readers' Club of the Department of English (UGS) organized a seminar on "The Culture of Reading Boos & Kashmiri Literature " at the National University of Modern Languages, Islamabad. The event featured Dr Farrukh Nadeem, Assistant Professor, IIUI, and Dr Rabiya Aamiir, Assistant Professor NUML, who enlightened the seminar participants through their engaging and scholarly thoughts. The session ended with a Q&A session.
In the end, the Head of the Department, Dr Muntazar Mehdi, expressed his thoughts on the significance of reading books and expressed gratitude to the speakers and organizers. He presented souvenir to the guest speaker.

On 25th September 2024, an insightful seminar on Building Emotion Regulation Skills among Youth was held, organized by the Department of Applied Psychology, featuring our esteemed speaker, Dr. Halima S. Qureshi. The event aimed to help faculty and students better understand the psychological processes behind emotional regulation. Dr. Qureshi, a leading expert in the field of Psychology, provided valuable strategies for recognizing and managing emotions effectively.
The seminar successfully enhanced participants' understanding of emotion regulation skills, equipping them with tools to manage stress and emotional challenges more effectively. The event was well-received, and we hope to continue hosting similar seminars to promote mental well-being among students.
In her closing remarks, the Head of the Department, Dr. Ulfat Nisa, expressed gratitude to Dr. Halima S. Qureshi for sharing her valuable insights and emphasized the importance of fostering emotional resilience in today’s youth.
