Cleanliness Drive by Social Responsibility Society (SRS)

On October 18, 2023, the Social Responsibility Society (SRS) of the Department of English (UGS) at NUML, Islamabad orchestrated a Cleanliness Drive that spanned from Rumi Block to Iqbal Block. Students, faculty members, and volunteers from other departments joined in, showcasing enthusiastic participation. The drive also featured engaging interviews with students and sanitary workers, aimed at gathering their insights to promote awareness about the noble cause of cleanliness.

Webinar on E-Registration: E-Registration and Login Issues by Departmental Facilitation and Support Club (DFSC)

On October 21, 2023, the Departmental Facilitation and Support Club (DFSC) organized a webinar titled "Navigating E-Registration: Registration and Login Issues." The webinar, conducted by Syed Abbas Karim, the Spokesperson of DFSC, delved into various aspects of the registration process, including helping new students navigate registration, login procedures, profile updates, and course selection. Through this presentation, valuable insights and practical advice were shared to empower students and enhance their performance. Following this enlightening session, an interactive Q&A segment featured the participation of the dedicated IT Team, aimed at addressing students' concerns regarding registration and login issues, offering valuable guidance for effective issue resolution.

Webinar on One-Day Virtual Workshop on Content Writing by English Alumni Society (EAS)

East Campus

The English Alumni Society's recent Virtual Content Writing Workshop, featuring Dr. Fizza Khan Durrani, a seasoned freelancer and content writer, was a resounding success. Dr. Durrani, a Doctor of Physical Therapy, began her freelancing journey in 2017, specializing in content writing and later expanding into content creation and social media management. In 2021, she established FBF, an empowering platform offering comprehensive training programs for budding content writers and plans for future courses in graphic design and content creation. The workshop provided invaluable insights into content writing, platform navigation, job opportunities, and client acquisition. The interactive Q&A session garnered a significant turnout, maxing out the participant limit. A monumental success indeed.

Industrial Visit Fall 23 Session

East Campus

Industry Liaison Office, FEC NUML Ibd, organized an industrial visit in Devsinc Islamabad on 18-10-23 to provide students of BSSE 8th Semester and BSCS 8th Semester with a chance to meet industry leaders, professionals, entrepreneurs and policymakers who shared their wisdom, learning, and experiences. Devsinc is an international software development company with a diverse tech talent of more than 1300 people that work according to the industry, technology and company culture. The continuously growing tech company plans to employee 80,000 IT professionals by 2030. The visit was a valuable learning experience. Students gained practical insights into the career goals and gained a better understanding of the IT industry.

Media & Communication Studies Deptt organized a *Talent Hunt* for NUML TV dated 18-10-2023.

Students from different departments of the university gave auditions for program hosts/presenters.

The objective of whole activity was to give students a chance to come on screen.

Mr. Babar Iqbal, In charge Radio & TV along with his team took auditions of students for different TV programs like Quiz Show, Morning Show, Current Affairs.

Media & Communication Studies Deptt arranged a panel discussion in collaboration with Independent Urdu on topic *"Career Paths and Challenges in Journalism"* dated 18-10-2023.

Major challenges to Journalism in Pakistan were discussed by the following panelists:

1. Mr Baker Atyani (Lead Panelist – Editor in Chief of the Independent Urdu) 2. Mr Haroon Rashid (Managing Editor of the Independent Urdu)

Along with discussion, panelists briefed students regarding Independent Urdu's internship program.
