workshop on Quantitative Analysis
On April 17, 2024, an interactive workshop on Quantitative Analysis was held at the Confucius Seminar Hall, Ibn-e-Khaldun Block. The workshop aimed to enhance participants' understanding of quantitative analysis techniques and their application in research. Guest speaker was Dr. Irum Naqvi (Ph.D.), Assistant Professor (NIP) at Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad.

Battle of the Brains-II
The Department of Mathematics organized the highly anticipated “Battle of the Brains” Mathematics quiz competition today. The competition was divided into two categories based on academic levels - undergraduate and intermediate.
Participated Teams: 79
The event witnessed remarkable participation from well-known universities and colleges, making it a truly inclusive and collaborative experience.
Teams represented well reputed universities such QAU, NUST, IIU, Air University, FJWU, etc, and Colleges including Govt Gordan College, IMCB H-8, Govt. Asghar Mall College, Govt Channab College F-8 etc.

Literary Talk Show on "The Political Economy of Culture" conducted by English Literary Society (ELS)
English Literary Society (ELS) of Department of English UGS organized a Literary Talk Show on 11th March, 2024. This session, titled "The Political Economy of Culture," provided platform for a perceptive discourse on how political and economic factors influence various aspects of culture pertaining to literary knowledge production. The event featured Prof. Dr. Muhammad Safeer Awan, Dean Faculty of Arts of Humanities and Dr. Kalsoom Khan, Assistant Professor, English UGS as panelists and Ms. Zenab Jehangir, Lecturer English UGS as moderator. With Ms. Zenab Jehangir's adept moderation and insightful discussion of the panel, the talk show offered valuable ideas, enriching the audience's understanding of using literary productions to improve Pakistan’s economy and cultural representation in the global arena. The panelists discussed challenges in local cultural production, including the dominance of capitalist and western media, lack of training, and economic constraints. They proposed solutions to these issues, such as script writing and production of new dramatic forms for cultural expression. Dr. Safeer Awan encouraged students to use their multilingual ability for the promotion of indigenous stories through translations. The panel also guided students about the utilization of digital platforms for dissemination of their literary works. Overall, the event fostered the need for a critical reflection of the significant role of Arts and Humanities at the nexus of politics, economy and culture.

Iftar Drive in Collaboration with Human Care Foundation conducted by Social Responsibility Society (SRS)
The Social Responsibility Society (SRS),NUML, organized an Iftaar Drive in collaboration with the Human Care Foundation near Khatam-e-Nabuwat Metro Station in Rawalpindi on March 26th, 2024.The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from both society members and volunteers, who joined forces to prepare and distribute meals. Beginning at 4:45 pm, SRS volunteers, under the guidance of Abdullah Tahir, the society's President, worked alongside HCF volunteers to ensure smooth execution of the campaign. Raja Ammar, the Director of Event Management, ensured meticulous organization throughout the event.Responsibilities were delegated effectively, with male volunteers overseeing management, food distribution, donations, and media coverage, while female volunteers focused on preparing food parcels and beverages for those in need. Through their collective efforts, they provided iftar meals to the less fortunate, allowing them to break their fasts with dignity and happiness.As the call to prayer echoed, male volunteers efficiently distributed food parcels among fasting individuals, ensuring separate arrangements for male and female participants. Additional food was provided to those in need, and passersby and metro station staff were also invited to join for iftar, receiving food parcels as well. The volunteers diligently monitored food availability, ensuring that everyone present was catered to. Following Iftar, SRS and HCF volunteers prayed together, fostering a sense of unity and camaraderie. The event concluded at 6:50 pm with expressions of gratitude from participants, leaving behind a feeling of contentment and fulfillment among all involved.
