On 16th May 2024, the Department of Mathematics organized a research symposium to guide MS and PhD students who were about to complete their coursework and were in the process of choosing a research supervisor. During the symposium, all the PhD faculty members presented their areas of specialization and the direction of their ongoing research projects. This enabled the students to gain insight into the different research directions available and helped them make an informed decision when selecting a supervisor.
In addition to the faculty members, research profiles from the regional campuses were also presented to the students which allowed them to explore the opportunity of having co-supervisors from these campuses, broadening their potential research avenues.
The event provided a platform for students to interact with faculty members and gain a deeper understanding of the research areas being pursued within the department and facilitated meaningful discussions and seek guidance regarding their research interests.
