Training Workshop on MAPLE Software
On November 3, 2023, the Mathematics Department organized a faculty training workshop on MAPLE software. The event was hosted by Mr. Muhammad Saad Ghafar from NUML University.
The workshop aimed to provide participants with a comprehensive overview and hands-on experience of working with MAPLE. Attendees learned various functionalities and applications of the software, enhancing their skills in mathematical computations and analysis.
Overall, the training session on MAPLE was successful in equipping faculty members with the necessary tools and knowledge to further enhance their teaching and research activities in the field of mathematics. The event received positive feedback from participants, who expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to expand their understanding of this powerful software.

The Curriculum Revision Committee Meeting
The Curriculum Revision Committee meeting was held on Nov 3, 2023 under the chairmanship of the Head of Department. The committee gathered to discuss and make revisions to the existing curriculum.
Key areas of focus during the meeting included updating outdated courses, integrating emerging technologies into the curriculum, and incorporating practical components to enhance students' hands-on learning experiences, updation of the scheme of BS Mathematics as per the revised undergraduate policy of HEC. Additionally, suggestions were made to introduce new elective courses that would offer students a wider choice of specialized subjects.

Research Symposium for MS/PhD Scholars
On November 2, 2023, the Department of Mathematics organized a research symposium as per the instruction of the respected Dean FEC. This gathering aimed to assist MS and PhD students who were about to complete their coursework and were in the process of choosing a research supervisor. During the symposium, all the Ph.D. faculty members presented their areas of specialization and the direction of their ongoing research projects. This enabled the students to gain insight into the different research directions available and helped them make an informed decision when selecting a supervisor.
In addition, the research profiles from the regional campuses were also presented to the students. The event provided a platform for students to interact with faculty members and gain a deeper understanding of the research areas being pursued within the department.

Training Workshop on MATLAB
The Department of Mathematics organized a faculty training on MATLAB on November 2, 2023, aiming to enhance the knowledge and skills of faculty members in MATLAB programming and its various applications. Dr. Muhammad Asif Farooq, from NUST University, served as the trainer.
The training session focused on showcasing the diverse applications of MATLAB in mathematical modeling, numerical computations, and simulations. The participants gained insights into solving complex mathematical problems using MATLAB's built-in functions and toolboxes.
The trainer guided the participants on how to write MATLAB scripts and functions. They learned about control structures, loops, conditional statements, and modular programming techniques. Feedback from the participants was overwhelmingly positive.
