Overview:

The Department of English offers MPhil  in both English literature and linguistics in line with the Higher Education Commission guidelines. These programs offer courses in a vast variety of traditional as well as modern disciplines in English literature and linguistics. Our high qualified faculty members are conversant with the latest trends in their fields of specializations. The programs aim at educating and training scholars in theory, practice, and research with a view to promoting a rich research culture in the country. Our MPhil and PhD graduates regularly contribute to the production of knowledge in diverse fields of literature and linguistics. Their subversive critical positions are recognized both at national and international levels when they publish in impact factor journals. Given the dynamic research ambience in the Department of English (GS), the faculty members and scholars are actively engaged in investigating the latest trends in research.

Eligibility:

  1. Master / BS degree (16 years of education) in relevant discipline from HEC recognized University with minimum 2.5 out of 4.0 CGPA or Grade ‘B’ under semester system or 50 % marks under annual system (45% marks under annual system for Urdu / English programs only).
  2. Selection in the respective program will be subject to availability of seats, merit based on academic qualification, valid GRE International / NTS / NUML devised GAT- General Score.
  3. Applicants with valid GRE International/GAT-General from NTS will have to pass written/subjective portion of NUML GAT-G (as per schedule of respective Faculties) to secure admission.
