Accounting and Finance Ideas Forum (AFIF)

The Accounting and Finance Ideas Forum (AFIF) is a departmental initiative at NUML designed to encourage innovation, entrepreneurial thinking, and the practical application of academic knowledge. Its rationale is to provide students with a structured platform to identify problems, exchange ideas, and develop workable solutions with commercial or social value. AFIF aims to build students’ confidence and capacity to turn promising concepts into proposals that can progress towards incubation and implementation.

AFIF’s scope encompasses idea generation, entrepreneurial awareness, collaborative problem-solving, and pre-incubation support for students of the Department of Accounting and Finance. It welcomes ideas relating to business, financial services, technology, sustainability, and community needs, while encouraging collaboration across disciplines. The forum will connect students with faculty, alumni, entrepreneurs, industry experts, and relevant university incubation facilities to help them assess and refine their ideas.

AFIF’s role is to organize brainstorming sessions, idea competitions, mentoring activities, business model workshops, and pitch presentations. It will guide students in assessing market needs, financial feasibility, implementation requirements, and potential social impact. Through coordination with BICON and relevant university offices, AFIF will facilitate the referral of promising ideas for incubation, maintain records of their progress, and help student teams prepare for further development, partnerships, and funding opportunities.
