Society of International Culture
Culture provides a gateway to understanding the context of any language. In order to master a language, it is equally important to get familiar with the culture associated with that language.
- Vision:
The vision of the Society of International Culture is to foster a balanced and harmonious display of cultural activities through the promotion of creativity and the celebration of cultural values.
- Mission:
The mission of the society is to make people aware of and interested in the Korean culture by organizing different activities led by the students and the faculty of the Department of Korean Language and Culture.
- Purpose:
The purpose of this society is to promote Korean culture among the students and the society. This society aims to enhance the confidence level of the students by allowing them to perform in various activities. These activities involve Korean language day, Korean traditional food making, Korean singing competition, calligraphy, drama wing, art and music, and much more. These activities will certainly play a part in developing the personality of the students and assist them in shaping a good career.
- Objectives:
- To promote cultural interaction among different cultural components within the Korean department and NUML for mutual understanding and enrichment.
- To upgrade, strengthen, and extend the existing relationship between Pakistan and the Republic of Korea by displaying and honoring the cultural values;
- To provide support and a platform to students who have a knack for art to display/ showcase their talent. Also, to provide support to students who are involved in artistic and cultural heritage activities to further polish their skills;
- To organize cultural activities for the public at large;
- To promote NUML’s efforts in providing students from not just NUML but also other institutions, a platform to participate in different activities related to Korean culture;
- To encourage the development of a dynamic arts, culture, and heritage sector in NUML;
- And to consolidate unity among students by providing them with ample opportunities.
