Accounting and Finance Alumni Network (AFAN)
The Accounting and Finance Alumni Network (AFAN) is a departmental initiative at NUML designed to maintain a lasting connection between graduates and their alma mater. Its rationale is to bring alumni experience, expertise, and professional networks into the academic community while supporting graduates’ continued engagement and career development. AFAN aims to build a sense of belonging and shared responsibility through which alumni contribute to the growth of students, fellow graduates, and the Department.
AFAN’s scope extends to graduates of the Department of Accounting and Finance across different programmes, professions, sectors, and geographical locations. It provides a platform for alumni networking, mentoring, knowledge exchange, professional collaboration, and participation in departmental activities. Through connections among alumni, students, faculty, and employers, the network will support career opportunities, industry engagement, and feedback on the relevance of academic programmes to professional practice.
AFAN’s role is to maintain an updated alumni directory, facilitate regular communication, organize alumni gatherings and professional interactions, and connect students with alumni mentors. It will encourage graduates to share career insights, facilitate internship and employment referrals, contribute to guest lectures and skills sessions, and support departmental development initiatives. By gathering alumni feedback and tracking graduate achievements, AFAN will help strengthen academic planning, celebrate professional accomplishments, and sustain a mutually beneficial relationship between the Department and its graduates.
