Rector’s Message on Ramadan

"We all welcome the Blessed month of Ramadan, the month in which the Holy Qur’an was revealed to guide mankind; a month for extra prayers, reflection, generosity and taubah (soulful repentance). I pray that Allah (SWT) grants us health and imaan to seek His reward through good deeds. Ramadan with its dedication to fasting, prayer and almsgiving, is also a month for strengthening the spiritual bonds we share with the rest of humanity. Given the exceptionally hard times we are facing due to COVID-19 pandemic, we are particularly called upon and duty bound to tear down walls raised out of hatred, hostility and ignorance. Let us renew and strengthen our faith through rigorous fasting, devout prayer, reflective meditation, reading the Holy Quran, and charitable deeds. These acts are closely aligned with the universal values that the Islamic faith promotes—peace, kindness, and love and respect for others.  All I wish that on this holy month your heart and home be filled with all the blessings of Almighty.

I would particularly take this opportunity to reassure our dear students that we have been working hard to make all the possible arrangements for the resumption of your education in the wake of this pandemic and if the current lockdown-like situation prolongs, we will have to commence online classes from 1st June insha’Allah. You are all requested to gear up for taking these classes.

Lastly, let me reiterate that Ramadan is not just about fasting. It is also about feeding the hungry, helping the needy, guarding our tongue, not judging others and forgiving them unconditionally.

Ramadan Kareem and best wishes"
