Vision
Kate Dicamillo has said," Reading should not be presented to children as a chore, a duty. It should be offered as a gift". This gift is being offered to you by the newly established society of NUML Islamabad in the form of a reader's club. The aim of the club is to offer a platform to rediscover the true purpose of literature: a journey beyond rote memorization. According to Jeanette Winterson, "Books and doors are the same thing. You open them and you go through into another world." English readers' club members are ambitious to tell the members how they can travel through different worlds and how they can fuel their imaginations by just sitting and holding a book in their hands.
A Our motto is to promote the love of reading as well as writing and to provide a platform for all the book sniffers to share their thoughts and their respective opinions on various works of literature. The purpose of the reader's club is to encourage and support a love of reading among its members. We will achieve this by providing a platform for discussing and analyzing a variety of literary works, fostering critical thinking skills, and creating a welcoming space for readers to connect and share their passion for books.
We will achieve this by conducting various book reviews, literary circles and sessions in which not only members can participate but various literary figures and authors will be invited to who will undoubtedly grace our discussions with their invaluable insights. Through these activities, we hope to foster a community of readers who can appreciate the power of literature and engage in thoughtful discussions about it.
