Community Outreach Society
The Community Outreach Society for English graduate students aims to instil a strong sense of social responsibility by applying academic knowledge and communication skills to community service. Members participate in literacy programs, volunteer work, and social awareness campaigns that extend learning beyond the classroom. Through various outreach projects, students gain insights into how social issues are interrelated and learn how literature can serve as a tool for change, deepening their commitment to social justice. The society also hosts seminars, discussions, and workshops with experts from NGOs, education, and activism to inspire students to design and implement their initiatives. A faculty advisor oversees the society, while elected officers—such as the president, vice president, and secretary—help coordinate activities. Participation develops teamwork, leadership, and civic engagement skills.
