English Alumni Society (EAS)

The Society is dedicated to nurture a strong and enduring bond between alumni and the university. Through meaningful engagement, continuous learning, and collaborative endeavors, the society aims to empower the graduates to thrive personally and professionally.

Fostering Success and building connections to empower graduates to excel in their diverse pursuits through meaningful connections, valuable resources, and collaborative opportunities.

 

 

  1. Purpose:
     
  1. The purpose of Alumni society is to facilitate and maintain connections among alumni by providing a platform for networking, communication, and interaction.
  2. To engage alumni in the ongoing life of the institution by keeping them informed about developments, events, and achievements.
  3. The society offers various forms of support to alumni, including professional development, mentorship, and career resources.
  4. To provide opportunities for alumni to continue learning and growing through educational events, workshops, and seminars.
  5. To create a sense of community and shared identity among alumni, fostering a spirit of unity and camaraderie.
  6. The society can advocate for the interests and values of both alumni and the institution, strengthening the institution's position within the broader community.

Overall, the purpose of an Alumni Society is to enhance the overall experience of graduates beyond their time at the institution and to create a lasting bond that benefits both alumni and the institution itself.

 

 

  1. Objectives:

 

  1. To facilitate networking opportunities for NUML graduates to connect with each other, share experiences, and build professional relationships
  2. Offering workshops, seminars, and career development resources to help alumni enhance their skills and advance in their careers.
  3. To establish mentorship programs that pair experienced alumni with current students, providing guidance and support in academic and career pursuits.
  4. To provide adequate development and promotional opportunities.
  5. To organize educational events, lectures, and discussions to promote continuous learning and intellectual growth among alumni.
  6. To recognize and celebrate the achievements and contributions of NUML alumni in various fields, promoting a sense of pride and inspiration.
  7. To act as advocates for the interests and values of NUML alumni, maintaining strong ties between alumni and the university administration.
  8. To collaborate with student organizations and departments to create opportunities for interaction and knowledge sharing between students and alumni.
  9. To maintain effective communication channels to keep alumni informed about NUML events, initiatives, and opportunities.
  10. To develop the potential of students/employees for future assignments.
  11. To utilize the man power and other resources more effectively and efficiently in the organization.

 

These objectives can serve as a foundation for NUML's Alumni Society to fulfill its mission of nurturing a strong relationship between the university and its graduates while contributing positively to the NUML community and beyond.

 

5.  Mandate, Procedures, Actions/Activities

  1. Society will primarily be managed by the student body and will comprise of the following: President, Vice President and General Secretary, Campus Coordinator and Students’ Spokesperson, to be nominated through elections, interviews and faculty consultation.
  2. The society will function under the overall guidance and approvals of the Dean of Faculty of Arts and Humanities (FAH) duly guided by a Patron from the faculty member i.e. Ms Iram Shehzadi
  3. The society funding can be through collections from participants, students, and sponsors.
  4. The structure of funding will be managed by the sponsoring department on an event to event basis. Initial seed money may be contributed by the university.
  5. Any changes if and when required in the SOPs may be incorporated by the formal approval of the Dean English (UGS).
  6. Facilitate opportunities for alumni to network and connect with each other, fostering a sense of community.
  7. Provide access to job boards, internship opportunities, and industry-specific events.
  8. Offer mentorship and guidance to current students, sharing insights and advice for academic and personal success.
  9. Offer exclusive benefits to alumni members, such as access to university facilities, libraries etc.

 

6.  Expected Outcomes

Improved ties between alumni and the university, fostering a sense of loyalty and pride among former students.
