Description
Mission Statement of the Program:
Illumination of Arabic Language & Literature in areas including usage of dictionaries, study of Research Methodologies, Morphology, Phonetics, Arabic literature (poetry and prose), Rhetoric and criticism. It is expected that the students graduating with this degree will be able to implement / apply the knowledge that they acquire during the course of this program, in their future professional and personal activities.
Program Objectives:
- To make the students aware of History of Arab world, its geographical, cultural, political and economic conditions.
- To enable the students to study the works of renowned writers, poets and critics of Arabic language and literature.
- The students are aware of core linguistic concepts of Arabic language.
- To equip the students with the skill of reading, writing and speaking Arabic.
- To enable the students to conduct research on various topics
- To create in the students the capability of translating documents from English to Arabic and vice versa.

Course Title: Thesis/ Dissertation
The student is required to write a Dissertation of at least 100 typed pages on a novelist poet or a dramatist or a literary topic approved by the Department.
The assignment will have to be defended by the candidate before a jury comprising of at least 2 members appointed for this purpose.
Eligibility
BA / BSc in 2nd division with Arabic as an optional subject from any HEC recognized University .
