Description
Mission Statement of the Program:
Enlightening the scholars to produce research in advance areas of Arabic Language & Literature applying historical, comparative, descriptive methodologies and analyzing the Quranic text, themes, genres and modern trends in Arabic literature and Criticism.
Program Objectives
- To update and enhance the knowledge of scholars in Arabic Language & Literature.
- To familiarize the scholars with the new trends in Arabic Literature and Arabic Language studies to produce quality research at PhD level
- To enhance the knowledge of scholars in theories of translation
- To equip scholars with skills to analyze Qura’nic text,
- To enhance the knowledge of scholars in themes, genres and new trends in Arabic literature-prose & poetry to produce research at PhD level
- To equip scholars with the knowledge and skills of new trends in Arabic Criticism to produce related research
- To help the scholars to find out new domains for their research work from contemporary Arabic Language & Literature.
- To apprise scholars with advanced knowledge of modern Arabic literary critiques.
- To apprise scholars with contemporary Arabic prose and poetry.
- To equip scholars with techniques to analyze literary texts semantically and phonetically.

Eligibility
- MS/MPhil Degree (18 years of education with 6 credit hrs research) in relevant discipline from HEC recognized University with minimum 3.0 out of 4.0 CGPA under semester system OR 1st Division under annual system.
- Selection in the respective program will be subject to availability of seats, merit based on academic qualification, valid GRE International / NTS / NUML devised GAT- subject score and interview.
- Applicants with valid GRE International/GAT-Subject from NTS will have to pass written/subjective portion of NUML GAT-S (as per schedule of respective Faculties) to secure admission.
